Title: Forces of Nature
Date: January 13, 2005

Isn’t it crazy how much weather affects our everyday lives?  My wife and I recently came back from Winnipeg after spending Christmas there and can you believe how a bit of cold and snow can affect you?  Imagine minus 30 degree temperatures and 30 cm of snowfall in 24 hours!  I love shovelling snow, pushing cars that get stuck on the road and bundling up with 10 to 15 layers of clothes just to throw out the trash.  ;-)  (FoN – Forces of Nature!)  Ok, not so bad, right?  Well, on the day we were to leave for L.A., the airline calls us and tells us that they would have to reschedule our flight.  They told us all the planes leaving Winnipeg were delayed and we would have missed our connecting flight to L.A. in Toronto.  (FoN!)  Ok, so a little disruption in plans, still not so bad.  In our second part of our trip, we had a chance to travel to Los Angeles.  Oohh, I couldn’t wait to get to sunny southern California.  Shorts, beaches, warm temperatures and lots of sun, right?  Well, NOT!  (FoN!)  We happened to have come during 3 major storms converging all on the same week.  What timing!  Forget the shorts, forget the beaches, forget the warm temperatures and all that California sun.  We had rain, rain and more rain!  Felt more like rainy B.C. than anything else.  So our plans changed and we ended up doing things indoors.  (FoN!)  Oh well, we made the most of it.  Thank God, we still had 2 days of dry weather and one of those days we were able to go to Disneyland.  Things could’ve been better, but oh well.

As I reflected on the weather and how it affected Carolyn and I, I can’t seem to think that I was merely inconvenienced by a little weather when half way around the world the tsunami and that force of nature had killed hundreds of thousands of people.  It makes me wonder how easily I could’ve been annoyed by a little inconvenience when really there is much more important things to be focussing on.

Title: A Married Man
Date: November 10, 2004

Well, here I am back in Vancouver and now married! Can you say WOW! I’m still blown away. Just 2 years ago I met Carolyn, then a year later we were engaged and now we’re married. Who would’ve thought??? Well, God of course and it’s so amazing.

Let’s see what I’ve been up to the past 8 months:
-moved to Winnipeg
-planned for our wedding
-attended Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral (Carolyn’s parish) and St. Peter’s
-worked for Best Buy
-attended an Engaged Encounter Retreat
-was Best Buy employee for the month of June
-went back to Vancouver for my stag
-helped organize our wedding social (Winnipeg thing)
-attended 3 weddings before ours
-got MARRIED!
-ate lots of my mother-in-law’s cooking
-gained weight
-traveled to Minneapolis after our wedding
-traveled to Toronto for a Best Buy conference
-quit Best Buy
-moved back to BC
-settled into a basement suite in Vancouver
-attended Clay’s dad’s funeral
-started working at the YMO
-led 2 sessions at the YM Seminars
-rearranged my office

These past 8 months sure didn’t seem like 8 months. Time sure flew. I had a great time in Winnipeg, but I’m glad to be back. Hopefully, you’ll get to meet my wonderful wife as she is the best. I have a few more things I want to share, but it’ll have to wait. Stay tuned…..

Title: Here Here Read All About It!!!
Date: June 03, 2004

Or NOT! hehe

I mean really, do you want to hear all about it? About me? Yeah, you do! ;)
So am I really the last one to write a blog? As they say, save the best for
last, right? hehe

So I'm missing the 604. All you can eat sushi, mountains and of course family
and friends is what I miss most. If you're wondering what I'm talking about,
well, you obviously haven't read our "staff" page. Yes, I am away from the
YMO and all of Van city. Don't worry I'll be back. hahaha

So you want to know what's up? Well, since moving to Winnipeg I've been
planning for my upcoming wedding, working as a computer sales person and
learning to fix a bike I bought for $5. You know, the uuge. =)

My time here seems to be going real fast tho. I can't believe it's only 87
days til I'm married! Yay! I am so lucky....correction....BLESSED! God is
Good!

Ok, ok, completely off topic....who's going to win the Cup? NBA champions?
French Open?

Not into sports? How about best summer movie? summer reality TV show?

More serious? How about the election?

Ok, that's it for now. Just some thoughts and a little taste of my exellent
riting skilz.

Peace out!
